“No gift is more precious than good advice.” – Erasmus

I don’t know where I stand with this quote. At some times, advice can help you a lot, but at other times, advice can be annoying or even hurt. But the Bible states, “Where there is no guidance the people fall, but in abundance of counselors there is victory,” (Proverbs 11:14) and is telling us to listen to the advice of our counselors and of those who want good for us.
We must be careful of taking all advice though, as there are many who would give us wrong advice because they do not care for us, or that it makes them feel self-righteous when others fail.
It can seriously hurt ourselves, our possessions, or our reputation. It is always best to take advice from trusted sources, or the Bible.
Even if we take bad advice, or use good advice wrongly, we can always look back to God to help us in our journey through life.

I think that the bible verse Job 12:13 really says the right thing, we need God’s advise because he is, well, all knowing ,but I still don’t appreciate advice when the person is just doing it to make fun of you ,or doing it rudely. I think that we should still appreciate SOME advice from some higher ups in our life. Like your coach on your team, if they give you constructive criticism than try to do what they want because 9 out of 10 they are right. The person that I look to for advice is God, and your probably wondering ” how can I take advice from God”, it is the Bible of course which are God’s own words put in a book. 🙂

Advice can be given to help you understand something better or to do whatever you are doing better. But either way people are always giving advice.
It may be your coach trying to teach you how to do something better, or your teacher telling you how to do better in school, or even your parents giving you advice on how to fix something.
But the person who is always giving us advice is God. God is always giving us advice in the Bible. He says in Psalm 73:24 is says ” With Your counsel You will guide me, and afterward receive me to glory.” This verse is saying that with God’s counseling will guide and give us advice to to choose the right path to be with Him

  4. Chloe says:

Today I am going to tell you about advice. My advice for you, is to read the rest of this. Have you ever been given some really good or bad advice? Here is the thing about advice, sometimes it can lead to something really good, or it could lead to something really bad. You never know what advice could be useful and what advice could not be useful. Although, sometimes there is something that tells us if advice given to us seems good or bad. One thing you need to remember when giving advice, is to give it very specific, for example, if you were giving advice to a boy about his date with a girl, and you just tell him to be honest, he may tell her that the dress she is wearing doesn’t look good on her. The girl may then get offended and not want to give the guy another chance. One thing about advice, is don’t take it too literal, because if you do sometimes it leads to bad situations. for example, if you need advice on making friends, and someone tells you to just be cool, then you will never know if the person likes you for you. Something about me, is I love to give advice, its fun to help people out every now and then. Well, that’s all about advice for today, my advice for you, is to learn from this comment and go out and help others.

    ADVICE

With my luck, when people give me advice, it’s terrible. Sure, every now and again I’ll get something useful. But, unfortunately, that rarely happens. Usually, I’ll ask someone how to do a math problem (besides my teacher), and they will use really big words to explain so that they sound smart, and we both and up getting it wrong. Or maybe the advice will be about a cute boy, I’ll say, “Hey, do you think he might like me?” Of course the advice-giver will try to be nice and say, “Of course he does!” So I end up getting rejected.

But, the best piece of advice that I have ever gotten was to walk with Jesus, and you will live eternally and be forgiven for your sins. In Psalm 73:24, it explains how God guides us on Earth, and when we die, He will take us into His glory to live eternally. Without that advice, I would be miserable thinking that after death there is nothing. But, I know that after death, there is a great God with open arms waiting for us in paradise.

I think advice is good because life can be difficult and sometimes you don’t know what to do or how you should handle the problem so you look for someone who was in your position and they help. In Proverbs 19:20-29 and it talks about advice and that you should listen to advice and and
accept instructions and you may gain wisdom in the future. The Lord is always there for you and sometimes you have to go through something to see He is there. The definition of advice is opinion about what could or should be done about a situation. Also in Isaiah 1:18 and He wants us to come and reason with him.

    Advice

Advice is something everyone most likely needs in their lives today which is someone elses point of view given to to try to better things. One piece of advice my parents give me is to follow God and and where ever he goes follow him no matter what. Here is advice given in Job chapter 22 verse 22 ” recieve instruction from his mouth and lay up his words in your heart. This means that if you follow his words you are the children of him and he is in your heart.

  8. Natalie says:

    ADVICE
Aid,consultation, encouragement, guidance, help, these are just a few words that explain this word that has such a big impact on peoples lives.

How can a six letter word have such a big impact on a person? This word can help you be a better person. Advice can’t just come from anyone it has to come from someone you love, or adore. Proverbs 2:7 states,”He holds success in store for the upright,he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless.”

The only way you will succeed something that you’ve failed at before is if you take advice from someone. Someone once said,” No gift is more precious than good advice.” -Erasmus. I agree with this statement because advice came from the heart. So always use advice to help you achieve a new goal.

  9. Harrison Bender says:

Advice. What should I wear tonight? How should I study for this test? You may find yourself asking your peers advice from time to time. Advice is basically taking what you think and trading it for what someone else thinks. And thats not necessarily bad, because it can be good to get insight from another person on something that you’re not so sure of yourself. But sometimes you dont listen to advice(me)and that can end you up in situations better or worse than what they were before. Sometimes you ask multiple people for advice on the same topic. But then who do you listen to, if they all say different things, this is where what you think comes into play, you pick the advice that you think will end up with the best possible situation for you. Think of advice as variables. If your friend tells you not to do your homework, that effects the outcome of the future(possibly in a negative effect), but if you do your homework the outcome will be also be different. In Acts 21 the disciples tell Paul not to go to Jerusalem, because paul will be arrested or killed if he does. In todays world we don always deal with life or death situations such as Paul’s, but advice does effect the little things we do in life, so take advice carefully.
